Hello,

Please only reply if you are 100% sure of your answer. I'm a EEA citizen and I would like to add a middle name by deep poll. So my first and second name will remain the same, I'm just adding a middle name.

I cannot change my name on my country's passport as you cannot change your name in my country unless you have some exceptional circumstances.

Will it be difficult for me to apply for British citizenship given that my passport will have my name without my middle name and I will apply for British citizenship with my new "British" name? Is adding a middle name by deed poll going to cause any issues? I cannot change my passport's in my country with my new middle name.

If needed, can I apply with my name without my middle name knowing that all my UK documents will have my middle name included?

Yes it will be difficult. Your name must match your foreign passport. HO is strict about this re multiple identities etc. Wait till you have your BC passport and then do deed poll and reapply for a passport in new name.

You will have difficulty if name to naturalise in is different from the name in any/all uncancelled passports you have.
