You would only qualify for a British passport once you had been granted the privilege of British citizenship. They are completely separate applications.
ILR can be revoked if you spend 2 years or more outside of the UK.

Thank you Casa.

So British citizenship cannot be revoked if for example I spend 2 years or more working in Dubai?

If you are not sure you are probably not yet integrated and ready for the privilege of citizenship. Its not just another 'visa'.

I am fully integrated but my country does not allow dual citizenship. That's why I try to find out the difference between being on ILR or having British Citizenship in terms of benefits, applying for a mortgage, absences from the UK (as I think also to work in Arabic countries).... Thank you.

ILR is just a visa status that is not permanent and can be lost.

So the question really becomes what are the advantages of British citizenship over the other citizenship that you would have to renounce.

Suggest you do need to do some of the heavy lifting here.
You would have to be an extremely dangerous war criminal or terrorist and threat to UK (or else to have employed significant deception) in order to face loss of citizenship once you had been granted that privilege.

This is irrelevant if your country of birth/other nationality doesn't allow dual nationality.

UK allows dual citizenship. Does it mean that they do not force anyone to give up their home country citizenship when people apply for British citizenship please?

Yes, although for the purposes of the EEA regulations, they may treat you as only being British.

from my experience, being on ILR vs being a citizen isn't different for mortgages, tax, finding jobs etc.

It just means you don't have to deal with work permit renewals and Schengen tourist visas anymore.

1. Don't have to worry about the constantly changing immigration rules.
2. You can re-enter the country even if you are out of country for more than 2 years.
3. VISA free travel to many countries (if you are holding a passport from the so-called third world countries).
4. Don't have to worry about committing traffic offenses (doesn't mean u have to commit one).
5. David Davis won't deport you

Britain is the best country in the World and you get to shout at foreigners in English extremely loudly instead of learning another language.

You don't need a passport, but as a British citizen you can vote in general elections (and referendums ), not to mention you can work in some sensitive government/military jobs which are only available to British citizens.

You can vote in general elections and referendums as a ILR holder.
