Application for registration as a British citizen by a person born before 1 July 2006 whose parents were not married needs to be made on Form UKF.
Can anyone please clarify the following if the person is outside UK:
1. Many applications can be made online, is it possible or required to make this kind of application to be made online?
2. They ask for the original passport to be sent with the application, is it legally allowed to post original passports internationally?
3. How much time it normally takes these days for such applications to be processed by UKVI?
Thank you

1. No, UKF is not an online application. You have to complete it by hand.
2. Depends on which country you are in. Not sure if you can submit through your High Commission or VFS. All documents you send must be original.
3. 6 months or more.

Assuming it is your father as you are applying on UKF, does his name appear on your unabridged/full birth certificate?

Thank you CR001.
The application is going to be from USA.
At the time of birth the parents were not married however the name of the father is on the birth certificate.
The form states UK address so that would most probably mean posting so its ok to post passports internationally?
Thank you

Yes you can transmit your passport internationally. It is not ideal but worth it to get the result you want. You can try sending a copy of your passport but risk having to send the passport anyway and potentially delaying consideration of your application.
You should probably read this entire thread:

Did your parents get married at any point after your birth?
