Firstly sorry if this has been asked before I'm new here. Let me start by saying I'm a British citizen living abroad in America I should be getting my 10year green card really soon. When I recieve it in makin a trip back to the UK for a couple of months to take care of some stuff. My daughter was born in the US and I would like to apply her to become a British citizenship so she will have dual citizenship. I have no registered her birth in the UK yet but I plan on doing so when I visit when I get my 10yeat green card. My question does her birth need to be registered before the mn1? Is there going to be any problems with the mn1 application when we live abroad? we plan to continue to live abroad for the foreseeable future. Would we need to make an appearance in the UK like an interview or something in order to obtain the mn1 approval? Should I start the process now? Or wait til I'm in the UK to start the ball rolling? My daughter is only 2 and half may I add while we have the financiers available I would like to take care of this now vs on 10years time. If I was to move back to the UK later in life atleast then that's 1 less load immigration paperwork I need to deal with

Child will be automatically British by descent. Apply for passport directly.

So a passport will grant her citizenship?

No, her birth to a British parent born in the UK already granted her British citizenship.
You can opt for either a British passport or a CoE-RoA in her US passport.

How would I go about getting a Coa or roa put in her passport, is this something I need to mention when applying for her US passport or is his something separate I need to apply roger then inset into the passport? I'm sorry for all the question that may seem dumb but it's all new to me

You apply for CoE or RoA after you get US passport. You apply through UKVI or Home Office for it.

Bear in mind that CoE and RoA expire with the foreign passport and you have to then apply again. It costs a couple hundred pounds. If there is. I travel etc, suggest apply for a british passport instead, it's cheaper.
