Child born outside UK

Hi there,

Another silly question. I have been perusing the guidance and I am confused about which form to use for my daughter who is 6 and lives in the UK but was born in NZ and has ILR in her own right. Does she use the same form as my wife and I, or does she use the same form as my two other children born in the UK and now able to apply for registration as British Citizens

Thanks for any advice.

MN1 form for children under 18.

Children born abroad apply under Section 3 (1) of the nationality act which is an application at discretion. ILR required.

Children bronze in the UK apply under Section 1 (3) of the nationality act which is an entitlement to register as BC once either parent obtains ILR. Children born in the UK do not need ILR in order to apply for BC.
