Hi there,
I have applied online for my daughter's first child U.K. passport. We are now living in South Africa and she was born here 2 years ago. My husband and I have naturalisation certificates I am collating the documents and am unsure if I can send her unabridged certificate or must get the vault copy of it. It will take about a month to get the vault copy so can't post the application til then.
Thanks

Unabridged should be fine as it lists the parents.

Vault copies can take longer. Mine, my daughters and my mothers' took 8 months and far too many calls and emails to Home Affairs.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't have a document with photo identity of my daughter. She is 2! What now?

Does she not have a SA passport? She will need one if you plan to leave SA.

A vault copy wouldn't have helped with this anyway.

No she doesn't have an SA passport. We are not planning to travel. I needed to renew my eldest daughter's UK passport so thought I would do it together.

Why get a passport if you don't plan to travel?

As CR001 points out above, South African citizens are not allowed to leave the country using a foreign passport.
