Ceremony dates

Hello,

I was wondering whether the HO gives you a date that you have to attend the ceremony on?

I am confused as someone on a different forum told me that I have to arrange the ceremony myself, and I only have a timeframe of 5 weeks to do so??

This would not work for me, as my local council only holds ceremonies every other month, and I don't want to have to pay for a private one just to keep in this alleged time frame?

I personally have never heard about any timeframe, but I would like to make sure.

Thank you,

MrsT

Once you receive the approval letter you are required to contact the local Council yourself within 21 days to book the ceremony. You need to attend your ceremony within 90 days.

Example: Lambeth City Council (standard for all Councils)
"You must book a ceremony within three months of the date of your letter of confirmation. After this date you will need to re-apply for citizenship[."

Hi Casa,

Thanks a lot for your help. 21 days to book and 90 days to attend is definitely doable even with the Council only holding the ceremonies every other month.

Thanks again,

Mrs T.
