HI all,

I am just wondering if there is any need to inform the following departments after you have acquired British Citizenship
HMRC
National Insurance Number
Banks
NHS
GP
any other relevant government departments

or it doesn't matter??

Thanks

None of the above.

If you are registered to vote as an EEA or third country national though, you should inform your electoral registration office so they can re-register you as a British citizen and therefore allow you to vote in general elections.

Hi,

sorry to bother you again, what about your employer do you need to inform them as your ILR is no longer valid??

Thanks and apology for the inconvenience.

No need, and if they ask to see proof of your right to work in the UK again just show them your naturlisation certificate or British passport.

On the back of this, I was wondering whether you'd have an advantage if you let your bank/building society know in regards to renewing your mortgage? People often say that citizens get better interest offers. Do you think there's any truth in these claims?
