Hi, I am EEA national with PR issued couple of years ago and my wife have Permanent residence card for Non EEA family members,However our children does not have confirmation of permanent residence but we can proof that they stay in the UK for last 8 years.Do we need to apply for Permanent residence for them before applying for naturalisation as a family?Thanks

Assuming children were born abroad they are registered not naturalised.
This is at Home Secretary's discretion so having confirmation of PR to prove their settled status will help their case.

If lucky enough to have been born in UK its much more straightforward; registration is then an entitlement and no PR proof required from child.

I would play safe and apply for PR confirmation as you have all the proof. It's a lot of money in the game.
I am almost the same situation as you. Husband PR holder as european and me PR holder as non-EU, but unfortunately our children has been in UK for less than 2 years. I have been advised to wait until they are able to apply for PR after 5 year in order to apply for citizenship.

Where were children born?

If sponsor is British they can't sponsor children under EU rules so make sure of their PR status first.

What about my wife? She has permanent residence card but as a non EEA family member can not sponsor children. Would her application for citizenship affect children PR aplication> Thanks again

So PR confirmation is advisable for children.
If you have strong evidence you could simply submit all evidence in MN1 application.
(Cards are not specified as mandatory - just proif of settled status).
If not sure then get PR cards first as risk to application fee is less.

Wife can apply to naturalise asap as no impact on children.
(Everyone applies individually anyway).

Hi, Just spoke to citizenship and nationality enquiry and they told me that children does not need to have PR once they live in the country for qualifying period but only parents require it.They told me that if both parents have PR we could all apply for naturalisation !???

If advisor is talking about naturalisation you are on wrong track to start with.
Children cannot naturalise.
Children are not naturalised. Children are registered.

PR confirmation is advisable for children because their citizenship is granted at discretion.
That is not the same as having a PR card, a PR card is not specified for minors (but helps).
Settled status (PR) is what is important.

Confirmation of PR strengthens their case as settled status is normally required.
They are still in the hands of the Home Secretary. And such discretion can go either way.

Thank you for your advice,again.I put the words wrong. Advisor only mention that we could all make an application and what's important parents status .All complicated as usually:)
