Hi All,
Just need few information about Right to adobe .
My friend in India want to know is he eligible to apply for right to adobe or not ,

He born in india in 1978 and hold a Indian citizenship, his dad hold the Singapore passport since 1948 and died in 2002 . just came to know about this option . please advise me is he eligible for right to adobe or not?

I strongly suggest you ask your friend to register and state the circumstances and query. This is not 'straightforward' and those who are familiar and able to offer advice will have quite a few questions.

I read the guidelines few times but I couldn't understand very well . if there any more details needed I can add it please reply if any body has any information on this.

There is a lot of detail he would need to provide, so best for him to post so that he can respond to the many questions which will be asked. There is a whole range of situations that effect whether he is eligible or not and it is easier to post directly than via a 3rd person.

Since 1983, only British citizens have the Right of Abode. Some Commonwealth citizens who may have acquired Right of Abode before 1983 retain it under certain conditions, but such Right of Abode (i.e. without British citizenship) could not be passed on to their children, to the best of my knowledge.

If your friend's father has no connection with the UK (by birth, descent or naturalisation in the UK), then it is highly unlikely that your friend's father had Right of Abode in the UK. Even if he had Right of Abode without British citizenship, it could not be passed on to your friend.

If your friend suspects that his father was a British citizen, he will have to come online himself, as CR001 has advised, so that we can question him before advising him further.
