Good evening everyone,

still waiting for my PR status application to come back (hopefully it's going to be successful), however I'm having a look at the requirements to obtain British citizenship.

To demonstrate to have sufficient knowledge of the English language it would be enough to have obtained an academic qualification recognized by UK NARIC.

I graduated with the Open University here in the UK and no doubt the courses were all taught in English. Would a letter from the Open University (stating that courses were taught in English) suffice or do I still need to apply for a NARIC certificate (statement of compatibility)?

A UK degree is usually sufficient, however I am not sure how HO view the Open University given that it is a distance learning uni.

The OU is on the government list of recognised institutions so I expect it's ok to declare this as a UK degree, taught in English.
