Dear Members

I have a question about registering a child asbritish national

A child was born to a couple in the UK when both parents were on Tier 4.

Now the child's father is British citizen but the couple is separated. (Divorced)

Child is 7 years old and lives with mum.

Can that child still be registered as British citizen ?

Regards

Thanks for your reply

Since, we have no contact with each other and I am unable to obtain his ILR or Naturalisation certificate. How can I prove to HO ? or what to send alongwith child's application ?

What is your status in the UK (if you are in the UK)?

Without proof of the ILR, you won't be able to register the child.

The child becomes eligible to register only once EITHER parent gets ILR and proof of settled status (ILR) is required.

When do you qualify for ILR?
