Hi ,
We got our ILR done last year in march. We will soon be eligible to apply for the naturalization. We ran in to small problem where my wife lost her BRP card. We have made the application to get the replacement BRP card but its been almost 4 months now and we haven't received the BRP card yet. We will be eligible to apply for the naturalization in 15 days. MY question is can my wife apply for naturalization while she does not have her replacement BRP card yet ( is in the application process).

Also lets assume if my wife cant apply till she receives her card ..then should I go ahead any make application for myself ..or would it affect her application when she applies for it alone. Is it advisable to apply for both together.
Please let me know.
Best,
Krishan

She needs the card proving ILR.

There is no 'BC dependent' application. There is no benefit or advantage in a joint application with your spouse.

EACH person applying must meet the requirements individually on their own. It makes no difference whether you apply together or separately as you have to meet the requirements on your own and she has to meet the requirements on her own.

Hi Char ,

Thanks for the reply. The AN form have section 6 about BRP card and that has a tick box to select to say if the card is lost and whether It was reported to home office . That is fine for me. In one of the other section it has following as the document requirements :
""
SECTION 5 Evidence of freedom from immigration time restrictions:required for all applicants
except those covered by SECTION 4 above.
• Your passport showing permission to remain permanently in the UK Or
• The Home Office letter by which you were given permission to remain permanently in the UK
• If you came to the UK as an asylum seeker you should have evidence of appeal applications
Or
• Evidence of being freely landed
""
I think we the letter which was sent with the initial ILR application and BRP card. SO would that not be enough...? apart from these two things I have not seen any other questions or section seeking information or mention of the BRP card.
Do you think I am reading something wrong ..or positively biased due to my situation .
best regards,

Letter should be fine plus evidence it has been reported lost.
