Hi all,

i just read that the fees for naturalisation will change effective on the 6th of April.
i did just post my application today (4th April) asking for the current fees of £1236 to be taken from my debit card.

As i have posted using 'signed for next day guaranteed', i'd assume that the reception date will be tomorrow (April 5th).
Is there any risk that i will be asked to pay for the new fee? i am fine with this but i just want to understand how it will work and hopefully it will not delay the process.

if anyone went through the same situation?
Thanks

They haven't. Small increase of £46 for BC application.

It’s a bit misleading but from what I understand:
Naturalisation = £1202
Ceremony = £80
Total = £1282 (as opposed to £1236 today)

Noriega34 is right. I can now see that in Note 4 - "the citizenship ceremony fee of £80 has been added to the application fee" So a slight reduction.

Got it!
i didn't understand it that way though as the document that states that the ceremony fees are included (note 4) is also saying that the naturalisation fees are £1282. and shows an uplift from £46.

where the legisaltion.gov.uk document (44 pages PDF) breaks down the naturalaisation costs (£1202) and the ceremony (£80).

but if there is a decrease, it is fine.

looks like the old fee of £1236 also includes the ceremony fee. so Naturalization fee hasn't gone down. it is infact increased by £46
