Hi guys,
please i need your helps regarding MN1 application for my 17 years old boy. i am a british citizen-gained british nationality through naturalisation back in 2009 and my son came into England in 2011. he came in with child settlement visa Indefinite leave to enter under 18, and his visa has my name next to the visa type.
hes been here for about 6 years now, he hasnt left the country since he arrived, i havent left since he arrived. he doesnt have any criminal record or such. i have every documents for the application apart from the birth certificate, he misplaced it when i gave it to him to give to his football coach when asked to bring his ID. we ve moved away rfom that place now and we now reside in london. i kept a copy of the birth certificate though, i have a copy.

I know what form to use, its the MN1 form, but i dont know under which section to make the application on, i have been trying to get through to some solicitors and they want at least £200 just to tell me the section.
so does any one know what section i should apply on, i will break it down so you guys can understand my situation more easily.

nationality application for child U18

MOTHER= BRITISH CITIZEN-through naturalisation
FATHER= NONE-the kid doesnt know his dad
KID (17 YEARS ) visa type=indefinite leave to enter settlement visa
TIME IN THE UK (mother and son)= we both havent left the uk for the past 6 years.

Advise and help will be appreciated, thanks in advance

If child born outside the UK, Section 3(1).
If child born in the UK, Section 1(3).

Hi, please, I need advise. I posted in a wrong forum and was told to continue from you.
Please I need help with my son s application. I have sent it off but I am worrie that I supplied the HO with a copied birth certificate instead of original one. Reason for this is because I had lost the original one in a previous house and to get hold of another original one means going abroad and it is hard because it's in Africa and it's not easy to go to the community as they charge a lot.

I did explain on the comment sheet of the application so that HO knows why I couldn't provide the original one. My question is will they accept it? My name is on my son s ILE SETTLMENT VISA u18. You help will be appreciated. Thanks

If you provided an explanation and submitted a copy, then it should be fine.

Hi, I managed to fill in the application, I have sent everything. I don't know whether or not the things are filled in are in the right places, I have been asked to do the biometric enrolment and I have don it last Wednesday, how long do you think I will need to wait? I'm planning on going holiday and I need to book appointment. They also haven't returned my documents I sent to them, but the requested for biometric enrolment

You don't get your documents back until application is approved.

You should have applied through NCS if you needed your documents.

Hi, I'm really sorry, but I need help.
I have been siting on my son s MN1 application now and haven't heard from the immigration service, I was wondering if I can check the status online and how can I do this? I heard you can check the status of your application online but I'm not aware on how to do it. Please could you let me know how I can do this? Thanks in advance
