First Adult Passport - supporting documents

Hi all,

Question regarding the application for a First adult passport after being naturalized.
The instructions guide says that along with the application, one must send the certificate of naturalisation as well as “Any other uncancelled passports relating to you”.
Given that I am French and have a French national identity card, can I send it instead of my French passport? I would much prefer to keep my passport with me, but of course I will comply if I have to.

Does anyone know?
Is there any number I can call to ask that the Home office?

Thanks

It is the uncancelled passports they require, apart from your current passport you should also include expired ones (which have not been cancelled, i.e. by cutting off a corner). Plus your naturalisation certificate original. This is standard procedure, which I have done in December. There's a number for HMPO on their website but I suggest don't bother, did my application the day after the ceremony and had my passport within seven working days (including first passport internview).
