Hi all,

I am a BNO passport holder and I stayed in UK for 9 years then I left 20 years ago. I first entered in UK in 1988 as student ( with student visa ), then I graduated MB chB ( in July 1995) as medical doctor to work in NHS for one and half year then left for good in May 1997. I did not apply for ? ILR .

How is the chance for me to apply for registration? Thanks

P.S. There was a stamp on my passport in 1996 stating "leave to enter to United Kingdom on condition that the holder maintains and accommodates himself and any dependents without resource to public funds is hereby given for until 7th August 19". Does this mean anything?

I will pay a visit ti Uk next month, hoping can apply in five years time !

Are you, either partially or wholly, of Chinese heritage?

If so, you are most likely ineligible for registration. BNO registration requires that you not have held any other nationality. Chinese law automatically treats all people of Chinese heritage as Chinese citizens. Therefore, you can't meet the requirements for BNO registration.

Thank for your reply. Yes I am chinese.

I thought I could apply by the 5 year residency regulation. Oh I should have stayed one more year in UK then
