Absence over 180 days

Hi Guys,
It would be great if someone could clarify this. I have got the ILR on 06/07/2016 and then left to India on 14/7/2016. For some reason I had to be in India for over 200 days and have finally come back to UK on 14/03/2017.
One of the criterias for naturalization is that the person should be in UK for over 270 days in the last 12 months. Given this, can I apply it in Jan 2018 since I will meet this criteria then or else should I wait till March 2018 (complete an year after I come back)? Please advise.

90 days absence in the last 12 months, so yes that makes March 2018
Are you married to british citizen?

I only ask, because:
If your spouse is a British citizen you must usually also have:
lived in the UK for at least the 3 years before your application is received
spent no more than 270 days outside the UK in those 3 years
spent no more than 90 days outside the UK in the last 12 months
not broken any immigration laws while in the UK
If you are not married you must usually have:
lived in the UK for at least the 5 years before the date of your application
spent no more than 450 days outside the UK during those 5 years
spent no more than 90 days outside the UK in the last 12 months
had settlement (‘indefinite leave to remain’) in the UK for the last 12 months if you’re from outside the European Economic Area (EEA)
had permanent residence status for the last 12 months if you’re a citizen of an EEA country - you need to provide a permanent residence document
not broken any immigration laws while in the UK

did he mean not more than 3 months (90 days) in the last year, which is roughly 270 days (275 to be exact)???

Thanks What an odd way for the OP to state this absence requirement. After a long day and only getting home at 9pm, maybe I should call it a day

I'm not married to British Citizen. Yes, I meet all those criterias but spent more than 90 days outside in the last 12 months period. I reckon I meet this criteria sometime in January 2018 since I arrived in UK on 14th March 2017. If I'm right I should be able to apply in Jan'18 itself and don't need to wait to complete 12 months in UK. Could you please let me know your thoughts?

That s correct, you should be ok to apply in January.
But make sure you have the days right and that you can proof residence, as it could get tricky
