UK Passport - Signed delivery ?

Hi,
The interviewer (passport office) told me that the passport is a signed delivery and not posted through the door. Is this how it is now?
Did anyone in the group have to sign for it in the last month or so ?

Can this be collected from DX office (assuming it is DX) or will it have to be redelivered?

Thanks

Mine just came through the letterbox, no signature, even though it's shared with two other flats. Convenient for me, but not sure it's the most secure method!

Signature is only required for addresses/areas which are deemed to be high-risk.
Where it's just a drop off the delivery person will take a photograph of the location.
