Accepted list of referees

Apologies if this has been discussed in the past and answered several times. I see the accepted list of referees in the naturalisation application as - One referee should be a person of any nationality who has professional standing, such as
a minister of religion, civil servant, or a member of a professional body such as an accountant or
solicitor.
Does a director of a limited company fall under any of this category?
I heard from one of my friends that this was explicitly mentioned in the application in the past. But now it is not.
