MN1 route passport fees question

Hi, everyone!
Last minute question before submitting MN1 application for my son:
I have seen timeline with MN1 applications progress and one thing concerns me which is passport fees. I thought that passport fees will be taken by post office only after biometric enrollment being done there, but for example in this post fees has been taken two days earlier than biometrics ?

Could anyone clarify this for me and explain how the whole process works?
Greatly appreciated!

Are you applying through NCS using the JCAP scheme?
If yes, you have to complete the passport fee leaflet, which is separate to the MN1 fee leaflet.
HMPO takes the passport fee usually shortly after the MN1 fee is taken by HO.
Passport fee is NOT paid when you do the biometrics at the Post Office.
If you are applying by post, you cannot apply for the passport at the same time.

No you won't. You need to complete both leaflets yourself. MN1 is

Passport fee sheet is in the guidance booklet, last page, in the envelope you get the passport form in.

Where do I get this guidance booklet? Post Office?

With the passport form (in the same envelope) that you get from the Post Office.

Just an additional point as some members assume this is possible, you cannot use the online passport form for JCAP. It must be the paper form from the Post Office.
