UK citizenship - child born outside the UK, only 1 parent settled

Hi all, it is all new to me and I would appreciate some help!
I and my daughter plan to apply for UK citizenship this year. We both came to the UK in 2009 and received our ILRs in 2012. I am a spouse of UK citizen, but my husband is not my daughter's biological father. My daughter's father is Russian citizen living in Russia and we do not keep in touch.
I understand HO will expect BOTH parents to be settled in the UK for the child to be considered for citizenship. Does it mean that my daughter is not eligible, in spite of living here for 8 years and holding ILR for 5 years? What are our options to get her British citizenship?
Thank you very much, your advice is highly appreciated.

Not quite correct in your circumstances. You will however require her fathers consent to register her as British.

How old is she?

Thank you for your reply. She is 15. Her father will give consent if required.

That's fine then and he will need to sign the MN1 form in the relevant section.

Thank you very much, it is a great relief :)
Is there anything else we should take into account while preparing a case for her citizenship?
Mine seems to be quite straightforward, but I am struggling to get the grips with the requirements for hers.

Just follow the guidance notes and form and submit what is required.

I would suggest you apply using NCS at the council. You get to keep your original documents then and you can apply for citizenship and passport simultaneously.

There is substantial discussion of Home Office policy in the following document, starting at page 27. Not all sections will apply.
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... 2.0EXT.pdf

In general- if the child is living with one parent who has day to day responsibility then they would not normally expect the other parent to be British/settled. Consent from the other parent is usually requested- it can be in a separate letter rather than on MN1- but the Home Office will not usually allow a parent to veto a child's citizenship application without providing a good reason.
