British Citizenship: change to private ceremony

Hi
Does anyone know if it's possible to reschedule a citizenship ceremony to a private ceremony once you have booked a public one with Lambeth Council? I've been ringing to get through to ask about a private one as no times were available on the site, and eventually just panicked and booked the public one though the time is not ideal (possible work conflict) and it's a bit far in the future.
The private ceremony isn't vanity. I would prefer to do some business travel in continental Europe on a British passport because of the immigration queues for Non-EU citizens (the timings are very tight) and also would value having my British passport sorted before the holidays.
