Naturalisation - expiring passport

Hi Friends,
My Naturalization application is in progress.
Applied on 11th Oct 2017 via NCS(JCAP).
I have below queries related to my indian passport which will expire by end of November 2017.
1) Do I need to renew my indian passport as it might take 3-6 months for my BC and British passport ?(No travel plans as such)
2) Am I allowed to work with expired Indian passport in UK ( with valid ILR- BRP) ?
Kindly suggest.
