BC for Child after Parents ILR

Post by tier2ilr » Sat Jan 13, 2018 8:23 pm

Few Queries

Time line

Child Born : 28-10-2013
Child Hold Non-EEA passport and BRP till Oct -2018 as TIER-2 Dependent ( We didn't Applied for child ILR as he is UK Born to apply Nationalty after parents got ILR).
Both Parents got ILR : 13/01/2018

Child & Parents Plans to travel Abroad in end of March for a month.

1)Should we apply for child British Nationality now?
2)Is the time enough 2-3 months for Child NATIONALITY & Passport?
3) What are the steps ?
4)Is there any way that we apply for Child British Nationality & Passport without sending Child NON-EEA passport Original passport & Child BRP so that he can come back.
5) What benefits or credits We can apply after obtaining the ILR? like Child benefit
6)Any other benefits eligibility after ILR for parents or Kids?

Thanks

1. Up to you if you apply now or not.

2. Probably not.

3. Citizenship FAQs (click)

4. If you use NCS at the council.

5. Please as your 'benefits' questions in the Claiming Benefits (click) sub forum and not here in the British Citizenship sub forum.

6. See #5 answer.

Can you Please reconfirm Child eligibility keeping in view Time Line above for Parents ILR and Child hold other country Passport as well as BRP on TIER-2?

2. Probably not.
How much average Time will it take as we will use NCS service so that we can keep his passport & BRP-Tier-2 to travel

4. If you use NCS at the council.
Where can i find NCS service as not available at Bradford Council Website.

5. Please as your 'benefits' questions in the Claiming Benefits (click) sub forum and not here in the British Citizenship sub forum.
Sure i will post this question there

Neither myself or any member on the forum can make the decision for you to apply or not to apply before you travel. Only you can make that decision. Child is eligible to apply, not sure why you need confirmation of that. Child is free to travel on current visa if parents got ILR based on PBS route and 5 years residence.
2. Probably not.

Currently 4-7 months to process. Sometimes quicker, sometimes longer.

You can apply at ANY council that offers NCS, it does not have to be your local council.

As has been posted many times, you pick up a form at the Post Office.

For citizenship it is MN1 only. For passport it is the passport form only.

There is an online form but you cannot use the online form if you applying through NCS, you must use the paper form.
