British Citizenship for Children

Hi,

I was hoping someone could help me. I want to apply for British Citizenship for my two children (8 years, 12 years). They were both born in England and have French Citizenship. I just received British Citizenship in September 2017.

Do the children need to apply for indefinite leave to remain before I can apply for British Citizenship for them?

Many thanks!

No they don't. Children born in the UK have an entitlement to Register as British and do not require ILR/PR to do so.

You could have applied for them once you got ILR/PR. You didn't need to wait till you were British.
