Hi! We have applied successfully with mn1 form to register our son as BC, but I got curious as some of us received passport in a few days time after registration certificate arrival, sometimes before it.
Almost 2 week will be since we have received our registration certificate and decided to contact HMPO when will the passport arrive, but received generic answer:

"I can confirm that XXXXXX passport application was received by the Liverpool Passport Office on the 10/10/2017.
The passport application is currently going through the examination process.
Unfortunately there are no further updates available at this time."

I thought its simple procedure and as they get confirmation of registration certificate issued by HO they print and send passport straight away?

Or do HMPO contact countersignatures by post and waiting for reply? What if the letter is lost or something, whats happens next?

Or its just a waiting game and I can do nothing and no point to bother them?

Home office decided your case, sent you registration certificates but the problem in your case is that they might did not intimate HMPO about the issuance of certificates, it’s my personal experience that until they are not intimated by HO they will never issue passport, even if you tell them about receipt of registration certificate and even tell them your certificate number.
A little solution is that you phone HMPO and tell them that you have received your child certificate and could you please email or verify about why they are not notified by HO. In that case HO might sent notification again if they did not already done so to HMPO.
But it all depends on the nature of the person of HMPO you will talk on phone . If not successful keep trying at different intervals of the day and definitely you will find some good representative who will escalate this matter back to HO.
