British / Irish Citizenship & passport for a minor.

Please may someone offer some advice.
My son was born abroad in 2000.
His mother is a british citizen by decent in 2002 (her father was born in the UK)
His father is an irish citizen through Foreigh Birth Registration in 2002(his grandfather was born in Ireland)
My son has lived in the UK since 2002 and was given Indefinite Leave to Enter on arrival at Heathrow Airport.
What are out options to get him British / Irish Citizenship & Passport?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Registration by entitlement under Section 3(5), while the child is a minor.

I do not know enough about Irish nationality law, but the Wikipedia article on Irish nationality law suggests that the child should be eligible to be registered on the Foreign Births Register as his father is now an Irish citizen.

MN1 Born Abroad Query - urgent

Morning everyone. I'm hoping someone can help with the 2 questions.

1) I the mom was born in Zimbabwe to a British father in 1980.
I had a son in 2000 born in Zimbabwe.
In 2002 we moved to the UK.
I had Right of Abode and my son Indefinite Leave to Enter.
Applying for MN1 but not sure under which section my son would qualify?

2) Both referees are school teachers however they have used the school address and school contact number on the form is this accepted?

Thank you

Section 3(1) as he is born abroad.

Referee detail is fine.

When does he turn 18??

You could have registered him years ago.

I thought it would have been 3 (5)?

Any advice regarding the referees?

I have Merged your topic with the one you posted in 2016. The advice is still the same but depends when he turns 18.

Online MN1 Application Advice

Morning all.

Has anyone used the new online application and Document Returning Service for an MN1 application?

I wanted to establish how long it takes to complete the online form?

I have an NCS appointment for tomorrow that I have been told I can change to the Document Return Service but I don't know if I have enough time?

Is it of any benefit to use the online rather than paper based application?
