Application for multiple children and referees

Hi Everyone,

I've been reading these forums for quite a while now but haven't actively participated yet. Big thanks to everyone contributing and to moderators.

I'm completing the all new online application for the family of four (2 adults and 2 children) which is causing enough confusion because many councils only offer old NCS service and not the NDRS service yet. Because of this we are getting all referees to fill out both forms - the old printed format plus the new section that you print at the end of online application.

The reason we had to go the double route is one of the referees for children (the one that interacted with children professionally) is uneasy about giving out their passport information to fill into online form for fear of theft of identity. I can completely understand that. However, since they are the only one person (everyone else already supplied their information), this is the single reason we're completing the paper form as a backup.

Which leads to the question: when applying for 2 children, can they share the referees? In short - do we need 4 our 2 people for children?

Did anyone have any luck getting a NCS appointment in reasonable time? The ones I called all have soonest available appointments one month in the future and my life in UK test is soon to expire. I did find one NCS which offers "walk in" - has anyone used one of those - what are the chances of actually getting it done on the same day?

You can use the same referees.

You do realise you can apply through any NCS, it does not have to be your local council.
my life in UK test is soon to expire.
Are you sure??? LIUK test DOES NOT expire. The Engish test is the one that expires.

Thanks for the answers. Yes, I passed the life in UK almost two years ago and it has an expiry date on it.

I got an appointment for NCS with Wandsworth council service - apparently they are one of the quicker ones.

Thanks
