Naturalization Application original Passport requested by HO

Hello Everyone,
I applied my naturalization Application via NCS on November 21st.
Today i received a letter from Home Office asking for my original Passport and Original Degree Certificate.
I want to check is it normal?
Please can i advice on above do home office ask these documents normally my impression was if i am going via NCS i do not need to send original documents?
Really appreciate any advice/ guidance on this

Even with NCS the HO UKVI does ask from time to time for originals to be submitted. You are not the first one.

The other day, I was advised by NCS that occasionally the HO make a spot check by requesting original docs from those who applied via NCS.

Its good to know that its normal that HO sometimes request for original documents and i am not the only one.
Am i correct in expecting that HO will return my passport soon? or can they take months in returning it, i have an official trip coming up and that's why i am asking this question....

Quick update everyone I still haven’t heard anything back from HO. It’s been more than 2 weeks since I sent my original passport. If anyone been in same situation please can you let me know how long did ho took to return original passport?? Appreciate Any advise please...

I suggest you to wait another 2 weeks if possible, normally when they request more documents, they make decision quickly.
If you dont get anything back after 2 weeks, you can request all the original documents back and they will send you everything within 10 working days.

Hello everyone!
Quick update, i haven't received anything back from HO yet. Its been more than 4 week since they got my passport.
I am having trouble time at work because i cant travel is there any way i can request HO to send my original passport back?
