Travel Documents for MN1 under consideration

Hello team,

My won 3 months old was born in UK and his application to register as a British National is under progress. I understand that application can take up to 6 months for approval. My wife and I are Indian citizens and my son doesn't have a passport - we chose not to apply as he was eligible for British Citizenship under MN1 application and to avoid further confusion.

Now we have a wedding in our family in May that we would like to attend. Is there any way I can secure a travel document so we can all travel to India in May? Alternatively is there any way we can request to speed-up the process? The application MN1 was received by HO on 5th March.

I really appreciate your support and response.

Regards.

No way to speed up the process.

How will your child re-enter the UK without a visa if you managed to get an Indian passport??

Applications seem to be dealt with rather quickly these days. MN1 for my daughter took approximately, from application to certificate received in the post, 3 weeks. Then passport applied for and received in one week.

Thus all done within one month.

Both MN1 and passport application were made online.

Thanks for your comment and therefore I'm asking if there is a way around by getting a travel document.

So i have seen in the other thread - online applications are quicker.

But i applied JCAP via NCS and it took 2+ weeks to get acknowledgement.

A travel document for which country??

You only have the option at this stage of probably applying for an Indian passport. As your child is not British yet or held a British passport, you cannot apply for a British travel document etc.
