Hi All,
I am having difficulty in getting reference for my 1 year old child to apply under MN-1. It mentioned that
Sec5.(One referee should be a professional who has engaged with the child in a professional capacity, such as a teacher, health visitor, social worker or minister of religion).

I dont know anyone who has been engaged with child, tried with GP they arenot ready to provide the details.

I am not sure how to get this referee, any alternate option anyone can advise please.

Discussions around references are almost always the same.
If you are religious, you can use your religious leader
or if you have a friend who is a manager in a limited liability company (this is quite broad). Does child go to mursery?

No, the child doesnt go to nursery yet..

Yes i did, i think this list is for other professional reference. One reference should be engaged with child , hence wondering if it should only be teacher, health visitor, religion of minister or social worker.

Am i correct if i get 2 references from this list it should be fine ?

I used a solicitor family friend to get my 5 months olds child passport. It should not be a problem

Don't know how there internal process works but they did not contact my referee.

Also, i have got Ilr recently and my child was born in Uk last year. He doesnt hold any nationality or indian passport. My friend is under the impression that i should apply for Passport and MN1 application is not required as Child was born in Uk and doesnt hold any passport,

I do not think so. Your child was born before you got your ILR so your child does not automatically acquire a british pp. You have to register your child as a british citizen.

HStepper07 is correct. If child was born in the UK before the date of your ILR, s/he will still need to register using Form MN1.

In that case, will my son be considered as stateless,as he doesnt have nationality of any country. I have read the mn1 guidance and it mentioned that for stateless child, i need to use form s3 - for person who is born in Uk,
Is that correct understanding ?

Form S3 if the child is born in the UK, stateless AND over 5 years and under 18 years of age.
Form MN1 if child is born in the UK, under 18 years of age and one parent has acquired ILR or PR.

Some members have reported that GP's do not usually want to give references. You can always use a professional referee from the list of acceptable referees that knows your child.

My question is that GP can be a reference or not ?

You can ask your GP.

I mean will HO will accept GP REFERENCE or not ?

HO accepts GP references. However in my experience the GP's are reluctant in giving the references anymore unless you really know them personally. However the best option is to go for minister or religion which normally they do very easily.
