Subject Access Request

Dear forum members,

I am thinking of doing a Subject Access Request to try and find some answers as to why my naturalisation application has been delayed so much. Has anyone had experience of doing this and if so is there a particulra format or best practise I could follow to get the most out of the request? I know it doesn't affect the application / decision time but just for my own knowledge as to what records they have.

Any advice / suggestions will be very much appriciated.

Many thanks!

Hello,

I had used Subject Access Request for a different reason and I was quite happy with the turn around.

My wife had an incorrect stamping (3rd March instead of 3rd April) on her passport. I had raised a subject access request to home office to provide me a list of all exits and entry from UK as per their records. They had turned around within 2.5 weeks from my request submission. They had all the details (including all the exits from UK).

As per my understanding, you can raise a subject access request, to get other information as well, such as case worker notes from previous immigration applications, but I am not sure if they would be willing to share notes from an existing application, but worth a try.

Regards,
SJ
