British citizenship for a child born when parent had indefinite leave to remain

My son was born in Feb. 2015 and I became British Citizen in May 2015.

I thought I could apply for British Citizenship now but after having looked here in the forums, it seems like I have to apply for Naturalisation first? or Is there a way to apply for British Passport directly because my child was born in the UK and been living here for 3 years since birth?

Is this correct? Please advise.

Child born before you gained settled status can only be registered (application MN1).
If born after settled status attained (ILR/PR) child would automatically be British.

Thank you for clarifying it for me.

I was able to confirm it on Gov's website as well - https://www.gov.uk/types-of-british-nat ... itizenship

If you child was born when you had Indefinite leave, then i do not think there is a need for registration, as he or she will have automatic entitlement under section 1(1)(b).
