The application form says you should include a current statement of account from HMRC if self employed.

I was self employed years ago, but no longer. I assume this requirement is only if you're currently self employed?

We were the same, never supplied anything for NCS appointment, it wasn't relevant at the time, July 2017, it was non EU application the officer said.

I never supplied one and still got it approved. I don't think it is mandatory.
