Hi Senior members,

I'm in UK since Sep 2010 with a limited company registered in UK ( and I'm Director of the company) In Aug 2015, I was granted ILR. My situation is that My family is not in UK (in Pakistan) and I've been going and coming multiple times in an year. But after ILR (in 2016) I was out due to business sort of work which further increased my absences from UK. Please note that I was a contractor at that time working for a multinational company in and I was paid here during my absences.

I was told that since my family is there in Pakistan and my business absences also in the same country so better to wait for an year or so. Currently my absences are as below

Entry to UK= Sep-2010 , ILR Granted= Aug 2015

Last 5 years absences:

YEAR 2013 (66 ===>) from May-2013
YEAR 2014 (154)
YEAR 2015 (163) ===> contains business related absences
YEAR 2016 (211) ====> contains business related absences
YEAR 2017 (26)
YEAR 2018 (82) ===>> Till May-2018

Can you Please check and advise If I can apply for Naturalization. Finally which document to prove business absences for a limited company director like in my case?

For citizenship, there is no different distinction for absences. ALL absences come under the 450 days in 5 years limit and 90 days in last 12 months limit.

To ask for discretion if you are over the limit, you have to prove a substantial part of your estate etc is in the UK. Difficult when your family lives abroad.

By a rough calculation u can apply only after 2020. That too only if you dont travel for the next two years. only 50 days in the next 2 years would be ok
