Lost and then found passport

Hi

Do passports used during citizenship application get checked against international lost and stolen passport database.

My friend lost his passport a year ago and informed the relative overseas national authority and obtained a replacement.

He found the lost passport while moving house recently and was wondering if he can use both the old (declared lost) and the new passport to prove 5 years residency.

Thank you

I think you should only use your current passport.
Do you have immigration stamps in that old passport?
Border Forces do exchange data on suspects and stolen documents so personally I would not use it. UKVI will have access to that data (being also in the Home Office). If it's a problem then you need to explain in your application, and perhaps advise your national authority that you have found the passport and what you should do with it.

The old passport holds entery exit stamps for four years worth of time. The applicant has ILR as BRP and the new passport for the last year.
