Dear members and the Moderators,

Could someone kindly advice me on which form I should use to apply for a british passport for a child under the Age of 16yrs. The Child is 8 months in the country(UK) from arrival and born outside of UK, I the Mum has a british passport. He arrived with a 3 yrs visa unlimited leave to remain . What I did not quite understand is why he was issued with unlimited leave to remain, because whilst I was a applying for them to join me as a family I had an indefinite leave to remain. Do children not get what their mothers have or rules have changed?
2. My twins were 17 yrs whilst submitting the application, and by the time the 3yrs visas were returned they had already turned 18 yrs. Do you think I can also apply for their british passport? Just to clarify that they the twins , their dad and the minor were all issued with 3 yrs unlimited leave to remain.

Thanks in advance

The children need to be registered as British on form MN1. Only a british citizen can apply for a passport and they are lot British.

How old is the under 16 year old child??

The twins will unfortunately have to wait till they have 5 years residence and will need English B1 and LIUK before they can register as British on form AN.
