Calculation of days outside UK for CITIZENSHIP

Hello.
I am resident in England, with an Italian passport - member EEA,
self-employed (sole trader registered in England)
with a tax return filed exclusively in England.

Regarding the application for CITIZENSHIP
I understand that I must not have:
• spent more than 450 days outside the UK during the 5 years prior the application
• spent more than 90 days outside the UK in the last 12 months

This my question:
In this calculation, do occasional days spent abroad WORKING:
- as a self-employed (invoiced with my business registered in England)
or
- as a VOLUNTEER for charitable causes
count as "outside the UK" or are they “exempted”?

Thank you.

No they are not 'exempted'. ALL absences are included in the 450 days and 90 days.

Do you hold a Document Certifying Permanent Residence??
