Hi,

I would appreciate your advise on following

I have ILR and looking to bring my family here, so far i have received following advice from solicitors

Advice from 3 solicitor,

I should apply for dependent visas for my wife and 2 kids and can only apply for british passport for baby born after my ILR(directly from Pakistan) and so dependent visa for 2 kids and British passport for baby.

Advice from 1 solicitor

I should apply for british passport from pakistan for all 3 children and then once they have received british passport then apply for wife dependent visa

Can you please advise what should i do? it will be much appreciated. Thanks alot.

Oh dear! You might like to suggest to your legal advisors that they read up on the British Nationality rules.

Children born abroad are expected to have ILR before registration, along with at least one of parents either having British citizenship or having applied for it and the other parent having ILR.

Your children don't qualify to apply for a British passport.
