British Citizenship as spouse of BC

Can someone help me please as I'm confused.
Just got my ILR on 5 year spouse route of a British citizen. Can I apply for my nationalisation and passport now?

Yes you can if you meet the spouse of BC 3 years residence requirements.

Thabks for your reply. What you mean 3 years ? We've been married fort 5 years hence getting my IRL this month

Section 6(2) of the nationality act naturalisation as the spouse of a British citizen is based on 3 years residence!!

Sorry if I'm a bit slow in understanding this.

So can I apply now for nationalisation +passport ( just got my ILR)
Or
I have to wait untill 3 years of having my ILR before I can apply.

My husband is a British citizen

You can apply now but you must meet the 3 years spouse of BC requirements, ie no more than 270 days absence in the 3 years and no more than 90 days absence in the last 12 month and crucially, you must have been physically present in the UK on the same date 3 years ago as the date you submit and pay online.

Great thanks alot for explaining it more! I think know I should be fine!

I'm due to spend Christmas abroad for 2 weeks this will I be able to travel if I apply? -

Yes you can travel if you apply online/passport through NDRS.
