Returning BRP card after under 18 child registration as British citizen

Hello
Can any please guide.
I have received home office letter confirming the successful registration of my child as British citizen and that I’ll receive the certificate within three weeks.
They have included all original documents in envelope as well as BRP card.
My question is, do I have to return the BRP card? If yes, when? Is it after I get the certificate or after we get the passport for our child?
