I applied for Britishcitizenship on the 28 April 2018 and on the 11 of September 2018 they sent me a letter requesting original passport to send it till the 25th of September 2018 unless the application will be refused. My question is that I have already sent copies of the passports and the application was submitted via NCS JCAP. After 5 months they are asking me to send original passports is this normal. And they sent me a kind of letter to with address and on it with case ref ...... pending 02 October 2018 and advised me to stick this to the front of the envelope and affix the correct stamp.

Is there any chance of approval. Anyone had the same experience please comment.

Many people are asked to send originals even when applying through NCS/NDRS.

It usually just means HO want to check something or are unsure of something.

I suggest you send them in as soon as possible before the deadline.

Thank you for your reply. I have sent the original passport and was received by HomeOffice on the 24th September 2018 one day before the deadline.

Does anyone have an idea how long it will take after sending requested passport. And I already requested the return of my passport today the which they received it yesterday.

Any idea. How long will it take to make final decision coz it already toke more than 5 months.

Update:


Today I received my original passport back with a letter from caseworker explaining that:

“ For your convenience the enclosed documents have been noted and returned to you”

The letter dated: 27 September 2018.

The original documents were received by them on the 24 September 2018 and I requested return of the original documents on the 25 of September 2018.


I don’t know how long it will take more.

I Think the end of this week or next week .

Update:

Today on the 4th October 2018 I received the approval letter dated 28 September 2018.

No it was in plastic big envelope together with some of my other original documents.

Ok. Have you sent it pre paid envelope . Or from them sent you recorder delivery?

No, I didn’t send them pre paid envelope.

They sent me 2nd class post. But the envelope was not the brown paper one. It was big plastic envelope.

Please confirm .did you recieve it on 3 o 4 oct . Because here you said 4 oct and time line you said 3 oct . ?

I received the approval letter on the 4th October 2018.
