British Citizen 450days and 90 days rule

Dear All,
I wonder if anyone could shed some knowledge on the absent rule for 450 days within past 5yrs and 90days within the past year.
I receive ILR earlier Aug 2017, now I have a great opportunity to study in another country for 12-16 months full time, but if I enroll the coursr that means most of the time next year I am outside of UK. According to the rule, when applying British Citizenship I should not be outside of UK more than 90 days within 1 year, and not exceeding 450 days within 5 years. Although I will be back to UK for a few days, I have my house and many friends here, but I will not be able to satisfy the rule of 90 days within 1 year, more worryingly, I might be over 450 days witin 5 years.
My question is, can this duration be treated as an exception?
Best regards
Alex
