Is there any advantage applying for the passport at the same time as naturalisation?

Hi all,
I've been seeing loads of people applying for the passport at the same time as applying for naturalisation.
Is there any advantage to that? Is it quicker(for the passport)?
My reservation is that if something goes wrong with naturalisation(knock on wood) I would lose the money paid for the passport.
Cheers!

Yes, you get your passport quicker (usually). Although applying after your ceremony, it does also only take about 3 - 6 weeks, sometimes quicker.

That would be correct yes, you would lose the fee.

Other advantages when using JCAP: you do not need referees for your passport application and you do not attend an interview.
