This one is for my mate (too early for me - haha) - for naturalization, do we require to produce an absence letter from present or ex employer to confirm the absences from the UK? Or HO dont care about that kind of letters and will look to passport stamps only? Thanks.

Letter doesn't matter and its not a requirement either, as you have to mention your absence in accordance with entry and exit stamps on your passport.
