Help, should I change my NCS appointment??

Hi everyone,

I have my appointment with the NCS on the 20th of October, but I was out of the UK 5 years ago from 3-6th November. The website for the council where I booked my NCS says I should have been in the UK the day of my appointment as that is when the qualifying period starts, but the Home Office says you should have been in the UK the day they receive your application. What does the Home Office count as receiving your application? How do you know when they open your envelope?? Should I postpone my appointment to after the 6th of November? The next time I was out was mid December, so it gives them more time to open it I suppose.
Thank you!

Date of application is one of the following, depending on how you apply.

1. Paper form applying by post it is the date HO receives it.

2. Paper form applying through NCS it is the date of your NCS appointment.

3. Online form applying through NDRS it is the date you submit and pay online.

Ok, great, so I should be fine since on the day of my appointment with the NCS I was in the UK 5 years ago.

Thank you!!

Already have dual citizenship

Hello!

I currently have dual citizenship for two countries which allow you to have multiple citizenships, so that's not an issue. However, in the forms you only have the option to list one nationality. Should I take both countries' passports to my NCS appointment? Has anyone dealt with this before here?
Thanks!

Manuela

Posts merged.
Hi, I noticed you merged these but the topics are different which is why I made a new post, if someone can help with the dual citizenship issue they won't see the topic and click on it if that makes sense.
