Passport fee charged means citizenship application approved?

Hi all,

I applied for my child's BC just over 1 month ago with the following details:-

Online MN1 form. Section 1(3) - born in the UK, parent received ILR recently.
NDRS + JCAP.

At the back of the passport application booklet I filled in my credit card details and the amount to be charge for the child passport. Now that information was used last week and the fee was taken out from my credit card. Is it safe to assume my child's BC application has been approved and now the passport is being progressed? I have not received any notification from the Home Office about the approval though.

Thank you for your advice.

No. They will still charge you if your application is unsuccesful.

You should of been informed about that if you applied thourgh the council.

Thank you for your comment.

The council did explain that and I understand. But what makes me wonder is why did the Passport Office not charge for the passport right at the start but only did it after a month following submission.

I have now received the registration certificate dated 16.10.2018 but passport has not arrived.

Is this normal ? as I see from other posts most other people receive both certificate and passport in 5 days max of each other. Do they send the passport through a secure service or just normall post?
