Processing time For RoA CoE from India Vs British passporr

Father is British citizen by naturalisation while mother is Indian citizen and holding ILR
We have given birth to daughter in India but confused on whether to apply for British passport or Indian passport with certificate of entitlement (RoA CoE)
Mother is planning to apply for either passport or RoA in December 2018 and intend to join father in UK along with son by Apr 2019.
I can see on official website that British passport takes at least 16 weeks while RoA can take up to 6 months.
Has anyone applied recently and guide me on timelines please
