Sending my US passport with UKM application

Hi All,
I am getting ready to submit my UKM app but concerned about being without my current passport. Does anyone know if I can use my expired US passport or could that be a deal
Breaker.

Send notarised color copies of every page of your current passport including front and back cover. It was sufficient in my application.
